Origional Student Poem: A Farewell To Arms


_____If I could run away with you forever, I would
_____time would cease to exist and I would be yours forever
_____We would run away into the stars and never get tired
_____you would hold me close and I would kiss you
_____then I stop and stare
_____and realize you aren't there
_____you were never beside me
_____our love was never meant to be
_____but in heaven we'll never be apart
_____and I love you, even if I'll never have your heart
_____even though our love never had a start
_____don't forget me love
_____the trees sing
_____I'll always be here with you
_____in the sky, in the grass
_____forever yours, in your heart
_____I hate this world of woe
_____but for now forget me

_____explanation of response: This picture reminded me of a forbidden love affair because of how surreal and _____quiet the forest looked. This is a picture of Italy in November, note the trees. It also reminds me of the _____chapter where the main character Fred had to rush to the river to avoid being shot by a soldier. As he _____floated down, ofcourse he was thinking about Catherine and having a drink. This picture also made me _____feel sad and lonley because there aren't lovers running across the field, it's just so serene and peacful. _____It's the kind of place where you lay down all your troubles and sing, almost like Maria in the Austrian _____mountians from the movie The Sound of Music (except this is World War 1). I would love to go there _____one day.
